Holding a Halloween Party and need to think of a way to incorporate my costume into the theme. ?
Last year I went as a Gothic Doll and did a psycho kid's haunted house with bloody dolls on nooses and stabbed teddy bears. This is my 5th year and I am running out of ideas! I know the costume will be Mrs. Cleaver (black goth 50's housewife dress, bloody cleaver [get it, lol], bloody apron, cake tray of body parts and so on) so my thought was to do a 1950's martha stewart-y type haunted house - cake stands with brains, a record player that has a bloody head on the turntable, etc...) I want to keep it bloody and scary and I am having a hard time thinking of ideas that aren't too cutesy. I have two weeks and very little money so it would be cool to have things I could make. Any thoughts?
Love the ideas so far- I like the idea of making everything bloody / 50's. Now I have to figure out what would make my contemporary house look 50's-ish.

As a result, the patient complains of either constipation or frequent loose motions. Excessive intake of medicines causes swelling in the large intestine.
According to some doctors, this disease is caused due to a special type of virus. It is known as Manolia Silosis.
The symptoms of this disease are:
Blood along with mucous coming out from rectum, burning sensation in anus, deterioration in patient’s health. Symptoms like stress, restlessness, lethargy are seen in the patient.
According to Yog experts, the one and only one treat- ment for this disease is Yog and proper diet. The patient should also have patience and will power. Patient should be given buttermilk or honey mixed enema. Boil pome- granate skin and give this enema to patient for relief.
Take two to three grams of pomegranate skin powder twice daily with fresh water for relief. Give hot fomentation on stomach for five minutes, place cold bandage on the stomach whole night. Remove the bandage the next morning.
Continue hot and cold fomentation. Sunbath is beneficial. Massage the whole body except the stomach. Give light massage on the stomach in the meanwhile.
Yog treatment:
Yognidra is a sure shot in this disease. Fill three-fourth of a green colored glass bottle with water. Keep the bottle under sun. Give this water to the patient the next day. This reduces swelling of the intestine.
Regular practice of Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Makarasana, Pavanmuktasana, Kapalbhati, Agnisar, Paschimottasana, Hastapadottasana are beneficial.
Diet and regimen:
Keep three days fast. Use water from green colored bottle and boiled water kept in bronze container for drinking.
Drink sufficient amount of coconut water.
Vegetable soup, pomegranate, apple and wood apple juice should be taken for a few days.
Diluted curd, ripe banana, and wood apple powder, thin cottage cheese is also beneficial.
Eat kichdi with curd for a few days. Drink buttermilk. Eat vegetable made with raw banana.
Curd set with soybean milk is especially beneficial. Restrictions: Avoid consumption of biscuits, food items made with refined flour, coffee, and tea. Avoid cigarette, alcohol, spices, cold drinks, cakes, sugar and chutneys.
Note:
Practice only those exercises that are suitable to your body. Take ten gram of Isabgol dust with cold water. Alternately, soak it in water overnight. Take it on empty stomach the next morning. Use this remedy regularly for few days to overcome burning sensation and swelling.
Take equal quantities of Isabgol and Triphala churna (around three to five gram) with hot water at bedtime to reduce swelling of the intestine. It clears the stom- ach and overcomes all the problems of intestine and pitta related problems. It is a very effective and harm- less remedy.
I have started to get into honey and lemon tea, using just lemon and Honey to keep the flu away, I havn't got a flu or anything so drinking honey and lemon tea about 3-4 times a day going to hurt?
I would usually drink coffee but instead of coffee I dring the lemon and honey tea without sugar, so it would have to be better than coffee.
So drinking it around 3 - 4 times a day is that good or bad?

I will be using it to build dollhouses and dollhouse furniture, and I need a tool that can cut wood up to 3/8" thick and that can cut in the middle of the wood. I'm not at all familiar with power tools and have no idea what attachments, if any, would be necessary for this type of job.
For My R/C Airplanes I use a Variable speed dremel with a flexshaft. That in conjunction with the router base are perfect for 1/4 inch birch plywood. (I have also used it to carve 1inch oak planking. I would have to stay away from the cordless / Rechargeable's as they dont have that great of a usable life. maby an hour or so.

Crescent Ridge Dairy’s Holbrook Ice Cream Bar to Open for Season on April 12
Formerly Coco’s Ice Cream and Mini-Golf, the new location will continue operation as a nine-hole miniature golf course but will now serve Crescent Ridge Dairy’s 31 flavors of ice cream and five flavors of frozen yogurt as a way to cool down before, during and after a round on the links.
“Opening up additional Dairy Bars is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time but it was a matter of the right opportunity and the right location,” said Mark Parrish, president and third generation of the Parrish family to run Crescent Ridge Dairy. “Operationally, the Holbrook location fit all our criteria and, as an added bonus, gives me a place to practice my short game.”
Offering both drive through and walk-in service, the store will also sell frappes, ice cream cakes, sundaes, pies, Crescent Ridge Dairy’s whole, 1%, 2% and non-fat milk, eggs, juice and steamed hot dogs.
The new location will be in operation on August 11, with a grand opening planned for later in the summer. The new store will be open year round, with summer hours from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
“We look at this new location as more than an opportunity to bring our delicious brand of ice creams and frozen yogurts to a new market, but to create a fun place where families can spend an hour or two of quality time,” said Parrish.

People have been making and buying dolls for their children for thousands of years. The first dolls were modeled after the gods and were used as instructional aides. Years later, dolls became playthings for children of both sexes. They were made of primitive materials, often clay, wood, or fur. Unfortunately, few specimens have been recovered from the prehistoric period.
However, archeologists have uncovered dozens of dolls from ancient Egypt. Since most of them were found in graves or tombs, these dolls were well-preserved. Historians also remind us that whenever an Egyptian was buried with an item, it meant that it was a cherished or prized possession. These early Egyptian dolls were made of flat pieces of sanded wood that were often painted and decorated with hair. The hair was made of strings of wooden beads or strings of clay. The earliest of these dolls were found in tombs dating back to 2000 BC.
It was not until Greek and Roman times that dolls were made specifically for girls. They played with them for several years and then, when they were old enough, they offered them as gift to their favorite goddess. Most of the dolls that have been recovered from these periods were found in the graves of little girls.
But even in the most primitive dolls, historians have noticed a common theme. The focus of doll making, whether done by a parent or a professional, has always been to make the dolls as lifelike as possible. Dolls with removable clothes and moveable limbs that date back to 600 B.C. have been uncovered.
Centuries later, Europe became the hub of the doll making universe. In fact, dolls were so popular by the 16th and 17th century that, for the first time, there was such a thing as a professional doll maker. Of course, dolls were still made of wood, but the craftsmanship and attention to detail was beyond anything that had been produced in the past.
By the 19th century, a new material hit the scene. It was called porcelain, and it was made by firing special clays at extremely high temperatures. Of course, these dolls were not children's playthings—they were quite fragile. Oftentimes, they were used as simple decorative pieces.
But the most important innovation in the history of doll making had nothing to do with a material—it had to do with the subject. Before the late nineteenth century, most dolls were made by and modeled after adults. But the famous French "bebe" doll of the 1880s depicted a much younger girl. After bebe dolls, almost all dolls were modeled after children.
In the later, lean years, rag dolls were a common and inexpensive gift mothers could make for their daughters. They were generally constructed of linen or cotton and they only took a few hours to make. More often than not, they were a little girl's first toy.
And when those little girls grew up, many of them began collecting dolls as a hobby. One of the most respected doll makers in the country is the Franklin Mint. Known primarily for their coins (they are a mint, after all), the company has been producing limited edition dolls for adults for decades now.
Each doll is handcrafted by an experienced artisan, often from vinyl. The Franklin Mint calls them Portrait Dolls, because they are modeled after a famous picture of a fictional or historical figure. This makes them instantly recognizable and gives them sentimental value for collectors who are fans or admirers of the subject. I am actually doing something similar to that for my final project. Its called speed photography. I dont have any of the pics online yet, but its pretty cool. Go to flickr and search 'speed photography' or 'breaking glass' and you will get some ideas.
The way I am approaching it is to be in a dark room (not development dark room, but a room that has little light in it..... I have hung tarps on my front porch and am doing the pics at night), hold the shutter open, and use a flash to capture the movement. I have an audio trigger for the flash, and a high speed strobe as the flash.
For the audio trigger, I found one through a google search and ordered it online. There are many DIY kits to order to make it yourself, or you can find a few that are ready to go.
